If you are a motorcyclist and the winter season is upon you, then you must be fully aware of how dangerous it can be while driving. The conditions for operating a motorcycle change and it is important for the rider to know how to adapt to this change. Riding a motorcycle in wet and winter season will require some special attention.
If you are the kind of person who rides around throughout the entire year, then you already know about the many different grip levels that most motorcyclist are aware of using during different seasons of the year. When asphalt begins to become cooler from the change in the weather, the surface of the roads also change and this is where it can become very dangerous when driving.
There are several things that you as a rider must take into consideration when out riding on the roads during the time when weather conditions change such as the braking process of your bike. Apply 50:50 pressure on the brakes when it is wet and slippery. Make sure that you stop at a double distance to the vehicles that are in front of you. When driving in the rain be sure to gently touch the brake levers so to clear any moisture.
Avoid ever riding through any kind of standing water. Remember when someone is passing you to move more to the side of the road to allow traffic to pass you from the opposite direction without ever worrying about them spraying you with any quantities of water from puddles, especially from trucks.
Whenever you are driving through any periods of snow or sleet, riding will be very unpleasant and also quite dangerous too. So it is wise to ride slowly and carefully and the rider should sit up more further to the front of your bike to apply more weight whenever coming up to a corner or intersection. Try to anticipate any skid that can happen front or the rear and always be well prepared to respond accordingly.
